In 2012 Fluorspar Primary School posted their best result since the inception of KCPE in Kenya in 1985. The school was ranked 4th out of 114 schools in the Keiyo south District and position 12 out of 345 schools in the Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Enock Kibet, a class 8 KCPE in 2012 student managed to attain the highest score for the Elgeyo/Marakwet County with 404 marks out of a possible 500, sharing position one with 2 other candidates.
On Thursday 22 November 2012 Fluorspar School bus with 30 children and 3 teachers went to St Patrick’s Secondary School in Iten to assist them in organizing their new library which was donated by the Field-Marsham Foundation.
Kenya Fluorspar Company has been thanked by the local communities of Simit and Menone, located about 10 kilometres north of the mine in the Kerio-Valley, for the assistance they gave after the recent mudslide tragedy caused by the heavy rains that occured on 29 December 2012.
Saturday 15 December was a happy occasion at the Field-Marsham Medical Centre following the Company’s decision to donate Glucometers, test kits and medication to a number of patients who suffer from Diabetes.
