Kenya Fluorspar Company has a new and modern facility in its sports circles – the Taekwondo Training Centre (Dojo). The ultra-modern facility which is one of a few in Africa was recently commissioned by the Canadian High Commissioner to Kenya, His Excellency David Collins, assisted by former world Taekwondo champion Master Victor Luke from Toronto Canada and his trainer Grandmaster Am Lee from Korea. Amongst other dignitaries was international marathon runner Lornah Kiplagat and KFC Chairman Charles Field-Marsham. Fifteen taekwondo students from Master Luke’s academy in Canada demonstrated their martial arts skills to the delighted members of the public and guests. Children from the local community schools were also given a chance to experience what Taekwondo is all about through a lesson conducted by Master Luke after the official opening of the Dojo. This facility will be serving KFC employees and members of the local surrounding communities (both men and women) including school children. Kenya Fluorspar Company’ students that board (classes 4-7) are all enrolled and attend 3 classes per week as part of their education and taekwondo will be an added benefit to children of our school.
